Direct Dial: 01604 498874I’ve many responsibilities which vary greatly but include most aspects of the day to day running of the business. To mention just a few I’m hands on with IT, financial planning, business development and HR. You name it – I’ll probably be involved somewhere along the line.
I’m not one to rest on my laurels and I’m always looking at new ways to progress the business. My main objective is to continue to drive the company forward helping to improve client proposition, infrastructure, systems and strategies. It’s also vitally important to me to maintain a healthy and rewarding environment for our staff to flourish.
Having left College in 1988 with a BTEC in Business & Finance I figured the financial sector was for me. At 17 I joined the insurance department at Nationwide (Anglia) which rooted my future within the industry. I built a sound knowledge of home insurance and learnt what it was like to be an employee in a large organisation. After a few years I progressed to several locally based brokers to expand on my skills and insurance knowledge. I also gained an effective insight of how businesses functioned – what to do and perhaps more importantly what not to do. It was this that provided me with greater confidence to go it alone. Andrew and I established the company in 1998 and we haven’t looked back since.
A 911 for sure, an aging desire which one day soon I shall satisfy. Its appeal to me is its acceptance as an everyday performance car. It’s not too overstated which suits my personality. Anything else must have style and it must be a good drive with a bit of enthusiasm, it also has to be big enough to accommodate my 3 young children.
I’m generally spending time with my kids. They don’t really see me for the best part of the day – except on the school run and for a very short time in the evening. At weekends I rarely plan anything just to be sure I’m around for my family.
I enjoy anything creative and hands on, cooking and gardening for example. I’m also interested in art and design in its many forms and one day, when life is less hectic, I plan to get creative and revisit my artistic talent in some way. This was one of the few subjects that I excelled in at school.
I’m also a sucker for technology, particularly electronic gadgets.
